I definitively agree. This is the main reason why I use jEdit. Their block selections are superb. jEdit even supports 0-width block selection, and typing inserts values on all lines. For example int a; int b; int c; can be easily turned into: int myVariable_ a; int myVariable_ b; int myVariable_ c; I...

I have been trying Visual Studio 2008 Beta for months. Why I choose Visual Studio 2008 is that it runs well on Windows Vista and provides better manifest file management. However, projects created in Visual Studio cannot be opened in SD 2.2. Wish SharpDevelop could support the new .csproj and .sln file...

I have recently started using SharpDevelop. I miss one feature very much as compare to VS that it lacks an XSD designer. I a project I have and XML schema (XSD) I have imported that project in SharpDevelop. I want to make changes in XSD file but I can't. So have switch back to VS.

I am writing a library. So how to debug it (offline)? Solution: Write a unit test and run it with "run in debugger". It would be nice to have a button next to "Run all tests", "Run test" and "Run with code coverage" to start "Run in debugger" in the "Unit Test"-Window on the right. That saves a lot of...

1. The pop up window is not resizable (like in Borland C++ Builder) 2. Methods are listed without return type (it could be very useful) 3. Overloaded methods are showed one for time (it's a pity! A complete list may help finding the right method one needs)

I think this is a very useful feature for SD. When someone editing source codes, he/she does not want to scroll both vertical scroll bar and horizonal scroll bar. If SD provides word wrap feature, that would be great experience for developers. Plz consider, thanks!

Hi, first of all, "I love SharpDevelop". Even if it's not perfect yet, it has almost everything I need to program in C#. What's not implemented yet has to be done by BrainPower ;-) The thing I miss most in SD is support of "conditional breakpoints". I'm sure you've heared about this a lot of times and...

Is there any plans ever in the future to put C++ back into SharpDevelop? I'm a poor soul and cannot afford the expensive Visual Studio upgrades everytime a new one comes out and unfortunately SharpDevelop was the only alternative back in 1.x but since 2.x support for C++ had been stripped and as...
