  • Can SharpDevelop do C++?

    The reason I ask is because I love the language and I saw a folder called C++ in the new project box. But I can't try it out cuz I'm getting that business about the Windows SDK not being installed. And it is.

    Well now I tried uninstalling 4.3 and installing 4.4 and the warnings have disappeared. I didn't install Windows SDK either. When I installed Corel Painter X3 that program installed .NET Framework 4.5. But I don't appear to have any Help files.

    I found that if I go into Project-Project Options and hit the Compiling Tab and change the Target CPU to 32 bit Intel Compatible Processor the warnings disappear. But I don't want to have to repeat this procedure for every project I create.

    I installed two items from Windows SDK and I'm still getting warnings. Am I supposed to install everything that is checked off in those boxes? I just installed what I thought would be necessary as it pertains to the .NET Framework and the Windows SDK.

  • Re: A couple of questions

    I can't seem to get it to do what I want.I start SharpDevelop and I go into File - New. It appears that Project is grayed out (don't know why). So I can choose either File or Solution. I choose Solution and choose the Console App template and give it the name FirstProgram. But then the IDE puts up this code window that already has the ...

  • A couple of questions

    I've noticed that both Visual C# and SharpDevelop generate the namespace line in your code, although Mr. Schildt leaves that out in my book. Is it considered good programming practice to always have that namespace line in your code? Or do you guys leave it out? In Java, the name of the class and the name of the source file are the same. I ...

  • Re: Question about output

    Where do you type or see this System Diagnostics line? Is this something I type in my source code or is this a setting that needs to be checked somewhere in the menu? Can you provide some specifics?

  • Question about output

    Is there any way to get the output of your program (output from the console DOS window when running a console program) to show up in that bottom white area on the bottom of the IDE where it says Output?
