    My first addin!

    Hi,

I've just completed my first addin and I would like to share it with you. It implements the "show help to error" VS 2005 feature in the Errorpad ...

    I hope you like it!

    Update: version 1.0.1

    Source

    AddIn File

    regards

    Siegfried

PS: Sorry for my bad english .... :)

Great! I think users will find this quite useful.

You can add it to the list of third party addins in the wiki, so it will be permanently visible for users of SharpDevelop. Or you might consider contributing it to SharpDevelop...

Good addin,  think it should be standard part of #D.  Would be even better if it worked for fxcop messages as well..

    Re: My first addin!

    Hi,

thank you, I think that, I will contribute it. To do this, do I have to sign this special paper (I don't know the name)? And will I be allowed to work on it, after the contribution?

@Russel: Just published the update with FxCop Help support (addin version 1.0.1)...

    regards

    Siegfried

To contribute to SharpDevelop, you will need to sign the JCA ("joint copyright assignment"). This will allow us to distribute the addIn with SharpDEvelop but allows you to use your code separately for other projects if you want to do so.

And yes, you can still work on it after contributing. Actually, you can then also work on other parts of SharpDevelop which you think are of interest for you.

Ok, but there's one problem, currently I'm sixteen years old and according to Austrian law I'm not full of age. I think the JCA is like an agreement and if I would sign the JCA, it would be invalid. So how else could I contribute? Do my parents have to sign for me or what?

Yes, your parents would then have to sign the JCA for you. Other ways to contribute which do not require signing the JCA are pacthes below about eight lines of code, documentation or translations of SharpDevelop strings (for the latter, please contact us, we need to set up an account on the translation web app for you).

Siegfried, but you don't have to create the index-control. Just use "IHxIndex". It's the same as "indexControl.IndexData". I can help you if you want. btw, I don't know what the other guys will say, but if it's fine with you we can integrate the addin directly into the Help addin.

Hi, I was away for some time now ...

You mean we can integrate my addin into the HtmlHelp2 Addin? That would be a great idea! You can take the sources ...

    Thank you!

    regards

    Siegfried

Just sign the JCA or let your parents do it. It's because you wrote the addin and I don't want to benefit from it.
