Is it safe to use SD3?

    Hi,

Is it safe to use SD 3.0? What about bugs being fixed in 2.1. Do the fixes propagate to 3.0 or rather everything may unsynchronize? I mean I am afraid of the moment the 2.1 works and there are no perspectives that 3.0 will also do in case of some blocker or critical bugs...

Fixes are propagated roughly weekly from Serralongue to Montferrer by Daniel.

Safe to use: no. Experimenting and testing, welcome. Production use highly discouraged.

The debugger is a bit broken for a start.

I used the Repo Browser but can't seem to figure out exactly how to specify that I want to check out the 2.1 trunk from SVN, as opposed to the latest 3.0. Stupid newbie question, I know - I've always grabbed the latest from the few repositories I update from, and never had occasion to need a specific trunk. I can get a specific revision easily, but how do I get the latest 2.1?? Thanks...

I don't have an access to the SVN here (at my office - firewall :| ), but in the TortoiseSVN you should see the repository. Press F5 to refresh it. Usually repos in SVN have following structure: directories ``trunk'', ``branches'' and sometimes ``labels''. While trunk means HEHAD, I would rather look for the older sources in branches since some branch must have been created for SD 2.1

If Roland's suggestion doesn't work or you like using the command line version of Svn.exe then take a look at the Wiki entry Using the Repository.

Ahh, that was it - I didn't "Refresh", I thought it would just, you know, be accurate :-)

    Thanks.
