The file in question is the main application definition for the project.
Note that the file Window1.xaml exists, and when I open that file in design mode, the stack trace is shown in the designer window, and does not crash the app.
The file that I tried to open in design mode references Window1.xaml as the startup URI as shown in the snippet below.
