Dockable Debug panes disappear during debug

This actually started several versions ago,  and so I've been only an intermittent user but I'm still clueless.  The first time I used #dev, everything seemed great.  Then something happened and I'm sure I clicked something out of order, but I started getting lot's of weird behavior with the dockable windows, like having all possible windows open at the same time, which manual closing did not fix.

Now the really serious issue is that the important panes like inspection, call stack, etc, go away immediately when starting a debug session, then they come back when I stop the application.

Does anyone have any clue as to how to fix this?  I've looked in several of the xml files, but don't see anything clearly useful.

     Thanks very much.

Re: [Solved] Dockable Debug panes disappear during debugging

Well, I figured there must have been a simple solution to this problem. The mere act of writing and posting the question has been instrumental.  Never mind that the behavior is, for first-time users, a bit reminiscent of a hide-and-seek game, the solution is most excellent.  Just after posting the question (for a problem that had been keeping me off of using #dev for months), I finally found the drop-down layout menu on the menu bar.

What a great idea to allow different layouts for different scenarios!

I'm looking forward to more pleasant surprises!
