    Subversion add-in problem.

Hi! This is really exasperating. I just upgraded to the latest Tortoise SVN client (TortoiseSVN 1.5.0, Build 13316 - 32 Bit , 2008/06/21 07:55:29) and now when I try to open my projects in SharpDevelop I get this error:

An error occurred while getting the Subversion status: This client is too old to work with working copy "(my project path)"; please get a newer Subversion client.

I've already got the newest client. Any ideas?

The client the error is referring to is the client library that SharpDevelop uses. This is not a part of Tortoise. In the latest release of SharpDevelop 3.0 a newer version of this library is used which supports Subversion 1.5. I suggest you use that version of SharpDevelop.

Isn't SharpDevelop 3.0 still in beta status? Granted it's a very good beta but still there should be an attempt to upgrade the Subversion that 2.2.* uses.

Of course this is only an opinion and I have no idea if there are the resourse to get that done. I just feel that that the 2.2.* version should be updated as needed. It is a valuable tool used by many.

Work on SharpDevelop 2.2 has stopped. Everybody's concentrating on version 3.0.

Yes, SharpDevelop it is still in beta but that tends to refer to newer features rather than the core parts. Most if not all the development of SharpDevelop 3 is done using SharpDevelop 3. Occasionally things break with the bleeding edge releases available from the build server but that only happens occasionally.
