    ironpython 2.0 support

An old blog post by Matt says that 3.0 will support Iron Python 2.0 and the DLR. I was wondering if that feature was available in the current trunk release. If not, given that support for Iron Python 1.1 exists. How hard would it be to the save level of support for IronPython 2.0? How hard would it be to add partial support for syntax highlighting, code folding, and command completion?

    thanks,

IronPython 2.0 support is not available yet. It is planned.

With IronPython 2.0 you lose the ability to create executables since this feature has been dropped in 2.0.

Is there a document somewhere detailing the reasoning for this move in IP2?

    Re: ironpython 2.0 support

I dont care much about compling an python file down to an exe. I care more about modern IDE support for developing scripts based on IronPython. For example, I would love it if I could have code collapsing, syntax highlighting, etc... From looking at the code this seems like it "might" be straightforward. Anything I should be cautious of?

Not seen any official announcement on support for static compilation in IronPython 2.0. Either it has been dropped or it has not made it into a beta release yet.
