Can't read Microsoft Solution file format 10.00.

    Hello,

I am trying to open an existing project created with Visual Studio C# 2008 Express Edition with SharpDevelop 2.2.1 build 2648 and I get "Can't read Microsoft Solution file format 10.00.".  Any ideas?

    Thanks.

That is supposed to happen (try opening that same solution with VS2005...). SD3 supports the new 10.0 format.

I do not have VS2005...  Is there some place to get SD3?

I found SD3... It is an alpha version. Thanks.

What is the official way to handle format 10.00?  Do we have to use SD v3, even though it's only in beta?  Or do we have to edit the solution file and change "10.00" to "9.00", which is what I did so we could get SD to open the project we need to edit?

And where did format 10.00 come from anyway?  Did one of our developers use a new version of the MS .Net compiler?

     Thank you very much.

The format is upgraded to 10.00 when opening the solution with Visual Studio 2008 or when adding a new project using SharpDevelop 3.0.

You can manually set the version back if you want, or you can use SharpDevelop 3.0.
