    Missing references: System.IO, System.Text

I cannot access some references; System.IO and System.Text that I know of. Some are there, such as System, System.Drawing and System.Windows.Forms, and I have successfully compiled and run programs using them. I am using #develop 2.2.1 build 2648, and .Net 2.0 SDK.

As an aside, why do you need to add references? Why does #develop not add them automatically when it comes across a using directive?

You have to understand the difference between assemblies and namespaces. You reference assemblies, and you import namespaces with "using".

The assembly "System" contains the namespaces System.IO and System.Text. So you have to add a reference to System (which should be added by default), and you have to add "using" statements for the namespaces.

Ah, I see. As I had had to add System.Windows.Forms as a reference, I assumed this was true of them all. Thanks for the insight.
