As the ninth of april isn't that far away now: if you want to participate in GSoC 2009 with a SharpDevelop project, please go and get your application in as soon as possible.
There are two main reasons for this:
1) If we get to know you, your coding experience and your proposal as soon as possible it is much easier for us to evaluate your poposal and vote it up internally.
2) If you submit a "last minute" application, your proposal might not get the attention it deserves, especially if it is of the "I want to work on XY, details will be furnished later"-type. The time for accepting student proposals after the ninth is rather short. In fact, we have to to the shortlist on the 12th, so better submit now. Together, we can still get your proposal polished until the ninth. If we don't know you or your proposal is just a "I'll submit and see" thing, this will not help you and us.
And remember - even if there is no mentor assigned yet to the project idea you want to submit your proposal for - don't worry, this will happen. After all, the number of mentor slots for SharpDevelop will be assigned after your proposal submission. And also don't be afraid to submit your own ideas for what you can do.
We all look forward to seeing your proposals and getting lots of cool stuff done together.
