TypeScript Support in SharpDevelop 5.1

SharpDevelop 5.1 now has integrated support for TypeScript.

SharpDevelop uses Javascript.NET to host Google's V8 JavaScript engine and uses the TypeScript language services to provide the following features.

Features

  • TypeScript compilation on save or build
  • Code folding
  • Code completion
  • Find references
  • Rename refactoring
  • Go to definition
  • Quick class browser support
  • TypeScript syntax highlighting

The TypeScript support is integrated in SharpDevelop 5.1.0.5191 or above and supports TypeScript 1.7.5.

SharpDevelop requires the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to be installed in order for the TypeScript support to work.

For more details on the features please read the TypeScript support in SharpDevelop blog post.
